Santo Domingo, The capital, Was the first European settlement in the Amercias, Founded in 1496. The Dominican Flag is distinctive for being the only one in the world that contains a bible on it. The national dance and music styles of merengue and bachata and dembow originated in the Dominican Republic. The country us the only place in the world where Larimar, a rare and beautiuful gemstone, is minded. Baseball and basketball are the most popular sport, and the Dominican Republic is leading producer of Major League Baseball players.

About Me

My name is Genesis, Im from Dominican Republic. I was born in La Capital, Alma Rosa. I love my country and its culture. I love the music, dances, and the games I used to play when i was little. Something I really miss is when I would be in DR en el barrio(in the hood) and the light would go off everyone would scream "se fur la luzzz", we would have to go to thr colmado(the coner store) and buy candles. I prefer being in the DR then here to me DR is home because it's where me and my family were born and shared the most fun moments. I love dancing bacbata, dembow, meregue, salsa, I can dance a tipico none stop. Im all about my country!!!!
